I just signed up. My password had an apostrophe in it. Mabiweb doesn't seem to like this; the "welcome to mabiweb" email inserted three backslashes before the apostrophe, and I couldn't for the life of me log in (with or without the backslashes).
It seems that the system should either reject the registration with a message explaining the problem, or else passwords with apostrophes should work.
(Finally I pretended to have lost my password, and got a new one that way, but it's really ugly for a brand new user to have this as their first experience!)
You are absolutely right but I don't have much control in this. All the user account management is done by PHP-Nuke, the framework I chose when I setup MaBiWeb exactly for this, to avoid having to reinvent the wheel and code my own user management tools. Unfortunately I didn't have any experience in this, I chose PHP-Nuke because it seemed to be popular enough, but it turned out to be a very bad choice, it's an horrible software, full of problems and issues, non-modular, badly coded.
I will have a look at the password code, but I'm not going to spend much time fixing PHP-Nuke problmes.
In developing my game modules I have always tried to stay as independent as possible from PHP-Nuke, in the hope that one day I will be able to get rid of it, but until then we will have to live with it.
Anyway, thanks for reporting the bug, I hope your experience with the games will be better. But keep in mind this is just a free site I develop and maintain in my spare time, you can't expect the quality of a professional site.
