No, notifications have been working since the transfer, and this new host seems to be more reliable, I haven't seen a lost notification so far.
I see you have the notification option enabled, so please check that your email address is correct, or maybe it's being blocked by some anti-spam filter.
Yeah, found 'em. This definitely seems new, since the move- perhaps something about the headers from the new host (I'm using Apple Mail)? Anyway, I've hopefully trained the filter to not tag them as junk...

A question I have. I was in the middle of a game when the problems happened in Oct 06. I have logged in to find that the game i created, and started to play is no longer available.
Were all previous games deleted? Is this common with everyone?

nothing was lost during the downtime at beginning of October, the whole database was moved to the new host and the site restarted exactly as it was at the moment it went down.
Your missing game has probably been deleted because it was inactive for a long time: all games are automatically deleted after 30 days of inactivity.
