A new game is ready for testing: Kreta by Stefan Dorra.
A few games have already been played (many thanks to the early testers) and now it's time to increase the numbers. Like in previous releases, I will create a few closed (passworded) games, and when I see that it's stable enough it will go to open beta-testing.
Volunteers for beta testing can join the games using the password 'fort'. English rules can be found on BGG at this link (translation by Patrick Korner).
Please post bugs, comments and suggestions in the Kreta forum.

Thanks,
MaBi

Excellent stuff. I like your taste in games. Shadows of the Emperor, Hansa and Kreta are three games I really like. (I bought my own copies of Shadows of the Emperor and Hansa after playing them here. Kreta I already own.)
I do like the variant in Kreta that you can only initiate a scoring when you've already played as many cards as there are players behind you on the scoring track. I think I read somewhere that Stephen Dorra quite liked this idea as well. Maybe a variant for later - for now I'm thrilled. Thanks very much all involved.

Yes, I know there is this variant. So far I have played very few games of Kreta and I prefer for now to play the standard game and make my own opinion about it. But I will certainly take this variant into consideration, it will be easy to add it later as an option.

Great news. I just read the rules and this sounds like an excellent game. I hope to get into some beta testing games soon.

I hope you'll open more Kreta betas soon, MaBi. I suck so bad at that game, it is frustrating me - I have to keep trying.

There are a lot of Kreta games running at the moment and I prefer to wait and see some more of them finishing, though it's going very smooth so far.

I added them a few days ago, they should appear only when you roll over the fort cards in the upper row and they are labels identifying the various provinces (the same labels used in the scoring table).

How goes the testing? Everything has seemed to be smooth in the games I've played in.

Yes, all good so far, but still few games completed.
Next week I will be away, with unknown (but probably very limited) network connectivity, so I will probably release it around May 12-13.

Until it's released to open testing only I can create beta games. Players can join when there is one available in the waiting games list, but of course I can't create too many because that's the point of closed beta testing: start with just a few until I feel confident that it's stable enough.
