Mali Empire when having Zhu Xi as advisor?

Had two advisors in my game and wanted to discard just one with Mali Empire but they both got discarded and I just received VP for one. Doesn't seem right. What do you think?

According to the FAQ, “If the advisor that replaced Zhu Xi is removed by any efect, remove Zhu Xi as well.” and for Mali Empire, “Only remove one advisor with this action, even if you have multiple.”

These are perhaps conflicting unless you consider Zhu Xi and his replacement to be one advisor, but you definitely don’t get double the reward for Mali Empire since it says you only remove one advisor, and you can’t choose to remove Zhu Xi when covered, so your only option is to remove Zhu Xi’s replacement, which causes Zhu Xi to be removed.
