|
|
Hello,
I have uploaded a new version of Nations with 2 new features.
- 'Concede' option for 2 player games.
Sometimes a 2p game can be very lopsided well before the final rounds and it can be quite frustrating to continue playing when you have no chance to catch up, especially at King or Emperor level. So now all 2p games have a concede game option (be careful, once you confirm the game is lost).
- 6 players.
As suggested by Nations designer Rustan Hakansson, I have added an option for 6 player games. The rules are the same as 5 players (second-most counts in 'Most' arnd second-to-last counts in 'Least'), the only difference being an additional column of cards in the Progress Board (which doesn't fit in the board but it works just like the others). Be aware that 6p games will be very looooong games.
I had to add a 6th color for this, so I added a few more, which of course you can use in 2-5 player games too.
Speaking of colors, there are still many users who don't know that it's possible to customize the colors used in each game, and you can choose your own preferred color so you will always have the same in every game (useful when playing multiple games). Of course the colors are specific to your own view, so you don't change anything for the other players.
Click on the 'Change players colors' link to use this feature.

It's in the actions box above the Progress Board, the link with the colored squares icon (but this box is visible only when it's your turn to move, so that's probably the reason why you can't find it now). |

Yes, side-A is always available and in a 6p game there will be at least one player with side-A. |

Unfortunately the game publisher has denied permission for Dynasties, so that will not happen (I know, it adds so much to the game, and I had already started working on it  ). |

Could be only for now, they seemed open to the possibility of reconsidering in the future (but in a year or two I will have forgotten all the code details and it will be much more difficult to pick it up again). |

Mabi Web Site Admin,
Do you know the designer, or do you have access to the designer?
My question to you (the designer), why is the Player Order Phase not in least VPs, least Stability, then least Military?
I've only started playing the game, yet seen a pattern among the starting players. Then with the growth phase in reverse order, those same leaders in the game can see what the weaker players(Nations) have picked, before making their decision.
This seems backwards? If the least VPs players go first, then those same leaders will have to make the decision in the growth phase first instead of last. Plus those same leaders will not go first to get another jump on the weaker players(Nations). Give the weaker players(Nations) a chance!
Thanks again for putting up with us(or should I say me)! |

I think the right place to ask this kind of questions is the Nations forum on BGG, where Rustan (one of the designers) is usually very helpful and responsive. |

Yes, please post questions like this in the BGG forums, much easier to find for everyone there.
Thanks for the additions MaBi! |
