Ok I understand the 'place one marker per turn' to try to prevent your opponent from taking a card. If they do take it it costs them one of their 3 markers.

Say someone dethrones you by advancing your life stage from 45. What happens? Does that mean you can't decide tie-breakers anymore? You won't get VP points in that round for being Emperor?

This is good if your only in a couple of games and can kinda remember who has what generally. Also good if you play and quick game in 1 or 2 days time. Might have to try it...thanks for the option.

Did you have sufficient funds as you still need to pay for the action card.
